Second Best with Joe Pantoliano.
Has nothing to do with business, but probably touches on some important issues for any entrepreneur, seeing your friends and colleagues doing better than you, at in the short run.
The simple fact is that on some days, you are going to get out of bed, drag yourself into the shower and wonder what in the world you have gotten yourself into. You didn't take the path of least resistance like most of the other people you know (and really whose fault choice was that). You know, there is a reason that you never hear a single mother wishing that "their son goes into business for themselves" (until of course the son actually succeeds in building something that makes the new). Never met a mother that didn't wish her kid becomes a doctor or lawyer.
Building your own business from scratch can be one of the hardest, most trying task in the world. Just a little harder than maintaining a solid marriage and a little easier than raising a kid.
Having said that, what any entrepreneur has to guard against is developing a bad case of schadenfreude: delight in another person's misfortune. You may get a little bit of joy out of seeing someone else struggle. Do yourself a favor, wipe those thoughts from your head. Negative energy will kill you. Bitterness is not an attractive quality except maybe in a character in a movie.
Remember, that you did this to yourself. Also remember, that every schmuck (or schmuckette as the case may be) you envy cause they have a steady job and security, is jealous of you cuz you have something they don't............the balls to go after a dream.
