I found these juicy tidbits as well as other fascinating facts in a new, scrumptious coffee table book entitled "Shoes: What Every Woman Should Know" by Stephanie Pedersen. I laughed when I saw that "Shoes" is described as a self-help book on the back cover. Not sure what to make of that one but every shoe aficionado should buy this book anyway.
