New International Shipping Stuff

As many of Shoelover's international friends know, Shoe Stor has been shipping world wide since the day we opened for business in 2005.  And since then, Shoelover has learned a few things:

1. It's much cheap to receive a gift than to give one;

2. 24 hours a day is not enough when you run your own business; and

3. Sometimes the mail does not always get through.  And it is on this note Shoelover would like to let you all know about Shoe Stor's international site.  All orders placed through this site are shipped world wide via Air Parcel Post, which means that you people down under or across the pond should get your goods in about 10 days.  So yes, some of Shoe Stor's pricing has changed, but now you'll all get your boxes much, much faster.

For those of you who live in Canada and the US, there are no changes at all.

How long to Australia

As of Sept 1 2006, Shoe Stor is shipping to Australia (and anywhere else that isn't Canada or the United States) via Air Parcel Post.  The estimated length of shipping is about 10 days (not including possible customs delays).

Shoelover gets many questions about shipping to Australia, so Shoelover thought Shoelover would answer them in one central location, the blog.

Shipping to Australia is via the US postal Services and can take anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks to reach down under.

Shoe Stor does not use a courier to ship to Australia as the cost would be more than the product.

Can I schedule a specific delivery time?

Unfortunately not, well not until Shoe Stor completes its take over of UPS, the United States Postal Service, Canada Post, Canpar and FedEx, which is slated to close around 2089 (subject to regulatory approval).  Until then, we can't give out specific delivery times.  If there is no one at your residence to receive packages during the day, have them delivered to your office.

Sing Me Spanish Techno (In honor of Manolo)

So Shoelover was listening to the new release from the New Pornographers, Sing Me Spanish Techno and came up with a brilliant idea, get Shoeguy to come up with a Spanish section of the Shoe Stor site.  There must be tons and hundreds and thousands of spanish speaking men and women who love their shoes, but just don't like using english web sites.  Seeing as how Shoelover doesn't make much use of too many Spanish, Polish, French or Russian websites, Shoelover can understand the situation.  And since Manolo himself is from Spain, it is fitting that Spanish is the first foreign language that  Shoe Stor gets up and running (Shoelover will add to it soon).

Momma, I'm coming home! (Oh, Canada!!!)

Big things going on at the Stor, we are opening our second distribution center in........................CANADA!  In other words, once up and running, all of our Canadian orders will be filled directly in Canada (in the very near future that is).

Now to answer a few questions that Shoelover often gets about Canada.

1. Is it cold in Canada?  Answer: Yes, in winter.

2. Will I have to pay duties on my order? Answer: Nope.  There will be no additional fees/charges other than what you see on the website.

4. Will Shoelover's Canadian distribution center be in an igloo?  Answer: Yes, yes it will be.

5. Does Shoelover know Dave from Vancouver?  Answer: Wow, what a small world, you know him too?  Hey do you know Susan from Chicago?

6. How do you feel about Canada allowing homosexuals to marry one another?  Answer:  Hell, Shoelover thought one of the advantages of being gay was not getting bogged down in all that marriage B.S.  Who knew that gay would be the new straight.

7.  Has anyone ever told Shoelover that Shoelover tends to stray a bit from the topic of shoes?  Answer:  Has anyone ever told you to keep your keep your opinions to yourself.
